Today’s devotional is for those days when you don’t feel like a very good teacher. You don’t feel like you’re doing that great of a job. And I want to remind you of some of the truths we talked about in Hope Renewed.

First of all, we need to check our identity.
We need to remember that God loves us, cares for us. We are whole and complete and perfect in him no matter what happens, even if we flop. And when we remember that, it really lowers the pressure and reminds us that I am worthy and loved no matter what.

Number two, we need to embrace our weakness.
We all love to feel strong, but honestly, when we feel like we’re doing a great job, sometimes we forget how much we need God. So, times of weakness, when we feel inadequate, those can actually be a blessing if they push us to remember how much we need God and to lean on him more.

Number three, we should keep learning and growing.
If we’re feeling like we’re struggling with something, there’s an opportunity for growth. So we can ask God, “Please show me. Please guide me. Please reveal to me what I might be needing to do differently or where I can grow and improve.”

And then number four, remember the results are in his hands.
He calls us to show up, to do our best, to be faithful, to honor him in all we do, but the results are up to him. Sometimes we do all that and we are so excited with the result. Sometimes we do all that and we’re disappointed with the result. But honestly, that’s up to him, and we don’t need to worry so much about how things turn out.

So as we end today, I want you to consider which of these steps do you most need to take, and then pray about it right now.

Do you need to check your identity?
Do you need to embrace your weakness?
Do you need to keep learning and growing?
Or do you need to remember that the results are in his hands?

Take a moment. Meditate on the one that you most need, and pray about it today.
